Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’. Recognising Modi’s efforts to promote climate action, green growth, and sustainable development.
PM Modi honoured with ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ award. The award is Seychelles’ highest honour for leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development, recognising Modi’s efforts to promote climate action and green growth.
The Presidential Citation also recognises his support for Small Island Developing States, climate resilience, international cooperation and the responsible management of ocean resources, while highlighting the deepening partnership between India and Seychelles.
‘I humbly accept this title with honor and dedicate it to all other countries that are struggling against the challenges of climate change and that consider the protection of the environment their responsibility toward future generations,’ the Prime Minister said on ‘X’. I extend my gratitude to the people and government of Seychelles, as well as to President Herminie, for bestowing upon me the title ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon.’
