Several Indian cultural traditions, such as Diwali, Garba, Durga Puja, Kumbh Mela, Yoga, Chhau Dance, Ramlila, and Sankirtan, are already included in UNESCO’s heritage list. If Puri Rath Yatra is also added, it will become another proud cultural symbol of India on the global stage. The recognition is expected to boost tourism, promote research on Odisha’s heritage, attract international visitors, and strengthen efforts to preserve the centuries-old festival.
