Centre Grants Z Cover to Raghav Chadha After Punjab Withdraws Security
Raghav Chadha Gets Z Cover as AAP Govt Removes Security in Punjab: The central government has given Z security cover to Raghav Chadha after the Punjab government withdrew his security. He will get Z security in Delhi and Punjab, and Y-plus security in other parts of the country. This decision was taken by the Home Ministry based on an Intelligence Bureau threat report.
The move comes at a time when tensions between Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party have increased. The party removed him from the post of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha and stopped him from speaking in the House. In his place, Ashok Mittal was appointed. On the same day, the Enforcement Directorate carried out raids at Mittal’s residence and his private university in Jalandhar.
Chadha reacted strongly and said he can be silenced but not defeated. Reports say the party was unhappy with his silence when leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh were in jail. Chadha said he was abroad for medical treatment at that time. The Z security given to him includes around 22 personnel, including NSG commandos and police forces, making it a high-level protection cover.
