Railways Introduces A Token system For Tatkal Booking: Big update for Tatkal passengers. The Indian Railways is introducing a new token system for Tatkal ticket booking from August 1. The West Central Railway has introduced this system to make the ticket booking process more transparent and to curb touts.
Railways has decided to introduce a new token system to reduce the long-standing problem of crowding and waiting for hours at the reservation counters. Under this, first preference will be given to those passengers who are coming to make Tatkal tickets for themselves or their family members over others. After receiving the token, the passengers will be able to go directly to the counter and book the ticket at their scheduled time
Token timings:
-AC Tatkal: 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM
-Non-AC Tatkal: 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Initially, 10 tokens will be issued for AC Tatkal tickets and 15 tokens for non-AC tickets at each reservation counter. Railways can increase or decrease their number depending on the need and crowd. If there are seats left after all the token holders have booked, then the rest of the passengers will get tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. While booking a Tatkal ticket you should carry your Aadhaar card or any other valid photo ID with you.
