Rajpal Yadav Finds Support After Jail Term; Sonu Sood Offers Film, Tej Pratap Yadav Extends ₹11 Lakh Help
Rajpal Yadav Receives ₹11 Lakh Aid from Tej Pratap Yadav After Sonu Sood’s Support: Bollywood actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav, who recently surrendered at Tihar Jail in connection with a cheque bounce case, is receiving support from several quarters after his emotional appeal highlighted his financial distress.
Last Thursday, Rajpal Yadav surrendered before the authorities after a lower court sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment in a cheque bounce case. The actor reportedly stated that he had no money and claimed that no one was supporting him during this difficult phase of his life. His statement sparked widespread attention and sympathy across social and political circles.
Following this, several well-known personalities came forward to extend their support. Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood publicly announced that he has offered Rajpal Yadav a role in his upcoming film. In a heartfelt post on social media, Sonu Sood praised Rajpal’s talent and said that difficult times do not define a person’s worth. He also urged producers and members of the film industry to stand together and support their colleagues during hardships.
Adding to this, Tej Pratap Yadav, national president of the Janshakti Janata Dal and son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, announced financial assistance of ₹11 lakh for Rajpal Yadav’s family. Tej Pratap Yadav shared that he learned about the actor’s condition through a post by Rao Inderjeet Yadav and expressed solidarity with Rajpal’s family, stating that his party stands with them in the spirit of humanity and cooperation.
Cheque Bounce Case Explained
According to reports, Rajpal Yadav had borrowed approximately ₹5 crore from M/s Murli Projects Private Limited for film production. The company alleged that the actor issued multiple cheques to repay the loan, all of which bounced. As a result, a cheque bounce case was filed against him.
Although the High Court had earlier suspended Rajpal Yadav’s sentence, it had directed him to repay the amount to the company. However, the court noted that despite repeated assurances, the actor failed to comply with the repayment conditions. Observing that his conduct breached the court’s trust, the sentence was reinstated, leading to his surrender at Tihar Jail.
As news of his imprisonment spread, support from colleagues, producers, and political figures has continued to grow, highlighting a rare moment of unity and compassion for the veteran actor during one of the toughest phases of his career.
