Salman Khan’s War Film Awaits Defence Ministry Approval
Salman Khan Shoots Patriotic Tribute Song for ‘Battle of Galwan’ at Rajnath Singh’s Request: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is currently busy with patchwork and reshoots for his much-anticipated film Battle of Galwan. While the actor had wrapped up shooting in December 2025, he reportedly wasn’t fully satisfied with the final cut. As a result, Salman and director Apoorva Lakhia decided to rework certain portions of the film, including reshooting scenes that did not meet expectations.
Amid these reshoots, a major addition has been made to the film — a new patriotic song. Interestingly, the decision to include the song was taken overnight after India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh personally requested Salman to incorporate a special tribute to the martyrs of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
Shot Overnight for a Special Tribute
According to sources quoted by Bollywood Hungama, Rajnath Singh suggested that the film should include a song dedicated to the brave soldiers who lost their lives in Galwan. Upon hearing this, Salman immediately contacted director Apoorva Lakhia, who was on a short break, and asked him to return and shoot the song without delay.
“Salman and Apoorva shot this song literally in one night. Salman wanted to place the song at the end of the film as a tribute to the martyrs shown in the story,” a source revealed.
The song has been written and sung by Ayaan Lal, son of senior actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Kunika Lal. It has been picturized on Salman Khan and will appear during the end credits. As Salman lip-syncs to the emotional track, the names and photographs of the martyred soldiers will be displayed on screen, creating a heartfelt tribute.
Earlier Meeting with Defence Minister
This is not the first time Rajnath Singh has been involved with the project. In September 2025, Salman Khan and his team met the Defence Minister in Delhi for discussions regarding the film. At the time, shooting was underway in Ladakh — a region known for its high security sensitivity.
Given that Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops, concerns were reportedly raised about how the film’s subject and shooting locations might impact diplomatic relations. Salman reportedly assured the minister that the film would respectfully portray the Indian Army’s bravery without creating unnecessary tensions.
Following the meeting and necessary approvals, the project moved forward.
Awaiting Final Clearance
As per protocol, once the film is completed, it will be submitted to the Ministry of Defence for final approval. Clearance from the ministry is mandatory for films dealing with military themes and operations. The makers are expected to proceed with the release only after receiving the official green signal.
With the addition of the new patriotic tribute and reshoots aimed at perfecting the narrative, Battle of Galwan is shaping up to be one of Salman Khan’s most ambitious and emotionally charged projects to date.
