Schools to remain shut in Jagatsinghpur district on July 27: The state is experiencing heavy rainfall past few days. In view of the heavy to very heavy rainfall warning issued by the IMD, the Jagatsinghpur district administration has ordered the closure of all schools and Anganwadis on July 27. The decision was announced on Sunday as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students amid the possibility of adverse weather conditions.
An official order issued by the Office of the Collector and District Magistrate, Jagatsinghpur, stated that the closure would remain applicable to all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools in the district. The order covers institutions at the elementary, secondary, and higher secondary levels, including Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) functioning in Jagatsinghpur.
According to the IMD forecast, the district is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated spells of extremely heavy rainfall, due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal and North Odisha.
The district administration has advised all schools and parents to obey the closure order and take precautions due to the prevailing weather.
