Shubman Gill Injured Ahead of Sri Lanka Tests: Team India began its warm-up match against the Sri Lanka XI on August 7 ahead of the two-Test series. However, captain Shubman Gill did not play on the first day because of an injury.

The BCCI said Gill injured the ring finger of his right hand during a practice session on Thursday. As a precaution, he was rested, and the medical team is monitoring his recovery. KL Rahul is leading the team in his absence.

Shubman Gill Injured Ahead of Sri Lanka Tests: India is already dealing with several injury problems. Jasprit Bumrah will miss the Test series, while Sai Sudharsan is recovering from an injury. Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar have also been ruled out.

The first Test between India and Sri Lanka will begin on August 15 in Galle. The warm-up match will help Indian players get used to the local conditions before the series.
