Sonia Gandhi ill Again : Admitted To Hospital . Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has fallen ill again. She has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Sonia Gandhi is accompanied by her son and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
According to sources, Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Medanta Hospital due to eye-related problems. She is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.
Sonia suffers from chronic health problems. She has gastrointestinal, lung and respiratory problems. She is undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla and Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
Sonia Gandhi is one of the most prominent figures within the Indian National Congress and has played a key role in shaping the party’s leadership for decades. She is the wife of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
After the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi stayed away from politics for a few years. She entered active politics in 1997, accepting repeated requests from party leaders.
She assumed the post of Congress President in 1998 and led the party for 22 consecutive years, making her the longest-serving woman president in the party’s history.
