BJP-Backed Parimal Nathwani Wins Rajya Sabha Poll in Jharkhand
Big Win for Parimal Nathwani in Jharkhand Rajya Sabha Election: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has made inroads into the INDIA alliance’s strong position in Jharkhand after the Rajya Sabha elections.
Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani, who was supported by the BJP, won one of the two seats. At the same time, Baidyanath Ram of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a partner in the INDIA bloc, also secured a win. Congress had fielded Pranav Jha for the contest.
In the voting, Nathwani received 28 votes, Pranav Jha got 19 votes, and Baidyanath Ram secured 31 votes. Three votes were declared invalid. Political observers believe the results could have an impact on the stability of the Jharkhand government.
After the results, BJP leaders congratulated Parimal Nathwani. Godda MP Nishikant Dubey said that the NDA-supported candidate had won with 28 votes, while the Congress candidate faced a clear defeat. Sita Soren also wished Nathwani and praised his victory.
Former Chief Minister Champai Soren congratulated him as well, saying he expected Nathwani to help bring central government welfare schemes to the people of Jharkhand and expressed confidence in his future role.
