Y Plus security cover for 6 rebel MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT): The Maharashtra Home Ministry directs Y Plus security cover for six rebel MPs belonging to the Uddhav Thackeray group. This order has been issued to the state Director General of Police(DGP) to upgrade the security arrangements of these MPs and provide them with Y-plus category security.
According to a wireless message issued by Maharashtra Commissioner of Intelligence Shirish Jain on Thursday, the enhanced security cover has been extended to Yavatmal MP Sanjay Deshmukh, Parbhani MP Sanjay Jadhav, North East Mumbai MP Sanjay Dina Patil, Hingoli MP Nagesh Patil Ashtikar, Dharashiv MP Om Raje Nimbalkar and Shirdi MP Bhausaheb Waghchaure.
All of them had been absent from Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary party meeting held in Delhi. Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut called them ‘traitors’ and ‘cheaters’.
This development has come at a time when speculation is prevalent that six Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs are in touch with the Eknath Shinde faction and have defected from the party. In such a situation, increasing the security of these parliamentarians is being considered very important in political circles.
