Subhadra Bus Run In Bhubaneswar : Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra has made a big announcement for women commuters in the capital.
In a historic move to increase the safety and mobility of women, the Odisha government is going to introduce the Subhadra bus service in Bhubaneswar, Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra said on Saturday.
He said that this service, specially designed for women passengers, will be operated by women drivers, which is an important step towards gender empowerment in public transport.
Talking to reporters, the Urban Development Minister said that the buses will prioritize the safety and comfort of women. ‘Subhadra Bus’ will be a dedicated service for women. It will be operated by trained women drivers. It is a step towards creating safer and more inclusive urban transport, he said.
The women drivers selected from Bhubaneswar have undergone training in Pune to maintain vehicle operation and passenger safety protocols. The buses will be equipped with modern safety features, CCTV and emergency call systems to ensure a safe travel experience.
