Odisha government likely to extend summer vacation for schools due to prevailing heat wave conditions
Summer vacation may be extended said SME minister: Amid the prevailing heat wave, the Odisha government is likely to extend the summer vacation in schools across the state.
Speaking to media, School and Mass Education (SME) Minister Nityananda Gond said that a decision on whether to extend the vacation will be taken after assessing the prevailing heat wave conditions across state.
‘If the heat conditions do not ease, the vacation period could be prolonged. The safety of children is the top priority of the School and Mass Education Department,’ minister emphasised.
The state government had announced an early summer vacation for all schools from April 27 due to the severe heat wave conditions across the state. state government had earlier announced that schools would reopen on June 22 following the summer vacation.
