The avalanche occurred after continuous snowfall.
Heavy snowfall in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir has closed the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. An avalanche warning has been issued for 11 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. A control room has been set up to help people. Many flights have also been canceled at the Srinagar airport. Thousands of tourists are stranded as a result. According to the airport authorities, 58 flights have been canceled. This decision has been taken due to snowfall on the runway.
