Textbook Errors: NNKS calls Odisha bandh on Sept 30: The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan on Friday called for an Odisha bandh on September 30. The sangathan sought corrective action over errors in school textbooks and demanded resignation of the School and Mass Education Minister. The announcement was made by the organisation’s national coordinator Akshay Kumar.

The farmers’ organisation has raised concerns over errors in textbooks for Classes I to VIII. They held the School and Mass Education Department and the minister Nityananda Gond responsible for the issue. The organisation has appealed to people across the state to support the bandh.

The call comes amid a controversy over errors detected in newly published school textbooks earlier this year triggering criticism from Opposition parties, educationists and other stakeholders.
