BJP Ward 98 councilor Anusuiya Goswami has won the mayoral election for the Kota Municipal Corporation. She received 65 votes
BJP sweeps Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota Mayor election: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has waved the flag of victory in the Rajasthan mayor election 2026. BJP candidates have won mayor seats in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
Jodhpur was considered to be the toughest competition. As it is the stronghold of former CM Ashok Gehlot. BJP has won 45 and Congress has won in 44 wards out of 100 wards here. While there were 10 independents and 1 councilor. However, in the three way contest Prasanna Mehta got 53 votes and Congress candidate got only 47 votes.
The BJP also won a major victory in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation. Sunil Kothari was elected mayor. The BJP received 89 votes, NOTA received 1 vote, and Congress received 60 votes. After becoming mayor, Sunil Kothari stated that he would move Jaipur forward on the basis of cleanliness and development, with the goal of preserving the heritage of the walled city. The victory in Jaipur is being considered a significant victory for the BJP.
BJP Ward 98 councilor Anusuiya Goswami has won the mayoral election for the Kota Municipal Corporation. She received 65 votes, while Congress candidate Sunita Suman received 35. Anusuiya Goswami won by a margin of 30 votes. The Kota Municipal Corporation has a total of 100 councilors.
