Udhayanidhi Stalin detained after offensive remarks against actress Trisha: DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin on Tuesday was detained after making offensive remarks against actress Trisha Krishnan. A major political controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu over this matter.
DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has reportedly made the remarks during a public meeting in Thanjavur over the Cauvery water dispute. S Bairavi, TVK’s Central District Women’s Wing Organiser for Thanjavur, lodged the complaint at the Thanjavur East Police Station. While addressing the event, the Tamil Nadu LoP was interrupted by a section of the crowd chanting ‘Trisha, Trisha.’ The TVK has, however, alleged that Udhayanidhi Stalin responded to the ‘Trisha’ chants with an obscene and double-meaning remark.
Tamil Nadu BJP chief spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy also slammed the DMK leader, demanding Stalin’s arrest and describing his alleged remarks as ‘disgusting, obscene, vulgar and shameful.’ Following the police action outside his Chennai residence, Udhayanidhi approached the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail, with the court scheduled to hear the urgent plea in the afternoon.
