Union Minister Amit Shah Launches No-Commission Cab Service Bharat Taxi: Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah officially launched Bharat Taxi, a cooperative ride-hailing service, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The launch was marked with a rally involving drivers and passengers, highlighting the service’s focus on driver empowerment, transparent fares, and respect for drivers. Amit Shah said the platform “empowers drivers to own profits and provides them with dignity.”
Driver Benefits
- No Commission Model: Drivers will receive the full fare, with no commission deducted by the platform.
- Minimal Future Fees: A nominal daily fee of ₹25–30 may be introduced, far below private aggregator commissions.
- Government-Backed Loans: Plans are underway to provide loans for drivers to buy their own taxis, creating new employment opportunities.
Passenger Benefits
- Low and Fixed Fares: Passengers will enjoy transparent, fixed fares, with no surge pricing even during peak hours.
- Safety Features: App features include real-time tracking, verified drivers, multilingual support, and 24×7 customer care. Bharat Taxi has partnered with Delhi Police and Gujarat Police to ensure safety.

Expansion Plans and Future Outlook
Currently operational in Delhi-NCR, Bharat Taxi plans to expand to other cities across India. Future upgrades include integration with metro networks. Operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited and supported by cooperatives like Amul, Bharat Taxi is not a government service, though it receives support from the Ministry of Cooperation. Analysts say this cooperative, no-commission model could reshape India’s ride-hailing industry if scaled nationwide.
