Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes Half-Century in Just 11 Balls
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Breaks 21-Year-Old Record with 11-Ball Fifty: India A’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a historic innings in the final of the Tri-Nations Series against Sri Lanka A. Vaibhav set a new record by scoring a half-century in just 11 balls. In doing so, he broke the 21-year-old record for the fastest half-century in List A.
Vaibhav scored 94 runs in 29 balls, which included 10 fours and eight sixes. He broke the record for the fastest half-century in List A, which was held by Sri Lanka’s Kaushalya Weeraratne. He adopted an aggressive strategy right from the start. He faced two sixes and three fours in the first five balls. He reached his half-century by hitting two sixes off fast bowler Dulaj Samuditha.
Suryavanshi was close to a century off 29 balls by Jake Fraser-McGurk. But the goalie’s attempt to hit a six got him out.
