The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee of the department. As part of the initiative, around 350 Point of Sale (PoS) machines will be installed in a phased manner across SR and DSR offices. These machines will be provided by Indian Bank and distributed based on the transaction volume handled by each office. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department will fund the procurement.

In the first phase, the system will be rolled out in registration offices in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, and Sambalpur. To ensure smooth operation and maintenance, an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for a period of five years will be put in place for the PoS machines. Following government approval, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be prepared for implementation. Officials and staff will be provided with the necessary training to facilitate a seamless transition to digital payments.
