Anant Ambani Announces Vantara University Focused on Veterinary Science and Conservation
Vantara Launches World’s First Global University for Wildlife Conservation in Jamnagar: Vantara has announced the establishment of Vantara University in Jamnagar, positioning it as the world’s first integrated global university dedicated to wildlife conservation and veterinary science. Founded under the leadership of Anant Ambani, the institution aims to advance animal welfare, scientific research, and conservation practices through a structured academic ecosystem that combines education with real-world application.
The university will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship, and specialized programs across disciplines such as wildlife medicine and surgery, behavioral sciences, genetics, epidemiology, nutrition, and conservation policy. Its academic framework will integrate in-situ and ex-situ conservation approaches, supported by advanced infrastructure, international collaborations, and a fully residential campus designed to link fieldwork with scientific research and long-term wildlife management.
A traditional groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of the project, featuring the symbolic installation of soil, water, and stones collected from diverse ecological regions across India, including forests, grasslands, wetlands, arid zones, and the Himalayas. The campus design incorporates Bijolia sandstone from the Vindhyan Formation, reflecting India’s geological and knowledge heritage, while the university will also introduce scholarships and fellowships to support inclusive education and research in wildlife conservation.
