The hike comes amid the continuing conflict involving Iran, the Israel, and the United States, which has disrupted global energy markets and raised concerns about fuel prices worldwide.
For many Indian families already dealing with rising living costs, the increase in cooking gas prices adds another burden to their monthly budgets.
This latest increase marks the second hike in LPG prices in the past 11 months, reflecting the growing pressure on global energy supplies due to geopolitical tensions.
Fluctuations in crude oil prices often have a direct impact on domestic fuel costs in India, which imports a large portion of its energy requirements. Despite concerns about further price rises, officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have reassured the public that there is no immediate shortage of fuel.
