Who Will The Next Chief Minister In Karnataka? Mallikarjun Kharge Made A Big Statement : There is no word on the change of Chief Minister in Karnataka. This issue has been stirring up state politics for a long time. Meanwhile, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge has added to the discussion by making a big statement. Kharge said that no date has been fixed for the change of Chief Minister. Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party’s top leadership, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and himself will consider and decide in this regard.
“The date has not been fixed, so how can I say whether the Chief Minister will change or not? We will decide after the three of us sit down and talk about it,” Khadga said at a press conference in Kalaburagi, a historic town in Karnataka. He also appealed to the media not to change his comments.
The decision will be in the interest of the state.
Khadgay said that the decision-making process in the Congress party is consultative. We hold detailed discussions among ourselves, consult senior leaders and take decisions keeping in mind the interests of the state. The party president emphasized that whatever decision is taken will be in the best interest of the state and everyone should support it.
Talks of power change intensify in the state
There is talk of a power shift between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. The Congress government completed two and a half years in November 2025 and as per the earlier plan, DK Shivakumar was to become the Chief Minister . But Siddaramaiah has demanded that he complete the full five-year term. CM Siddaramaiah also said that he will accept the decision of the party leadership. Meanwhile, Shivakumar’s supporters are unhappy with Siddaramaiah’s decision.
