IPL Final Weather Alert: Rain Threat in Ahmedabad Explained
Will Rain Spoil the IPL Final? Ahmedabad Weather Update & Reserve Day Rule: The IPL 2026 final will be played today between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM, while the toss will take place at 7:00 PM.
However, weather conditions may affect the game. A yellow alert has been issued in parts of Ahmedabad due to the possibility of rain. Forecasts suggest there could be light to moderate showers during the match, along with the chance of strong winds. At the time of the toss, the probability of rain is around 25%, which means the start of the match could be delayed.
Despite the weather concerns, a reserve day has been arranged for the final to ensure a result if play is interrupted. Ahmedabad has recently experienced very hot conditions, with temperatures crossing 43°C, but the weather is expected to change today and tomorrow due to incoming rain.
For a valid result, at least 5 overs per side must be completed. If rain disrupts the match, officials will try to finish it on the same day or on the reserve day. In the unlikely event that the final is completely washed out, the team higher on the points table will be declared the champion. In that scenario, RCB would be awarded the title.
