A woman wrote suicide note with heena: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old woman died by suicide with allegations of harassment. This incident has come to light from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, which has changed the traditional methods of police investigation.
The victim has been identified as Preeti Verma, a 32-year-old married woman of Chanhia Khurd village under Chourai police limits. Police investigation revealed that Preeti was married to Lakhan Verma in 2013. The couple has a 10-year-old daughter, but their elder son died due to illness some time ago. The police are now going through the husband’s mobile phone and digital chats. Along with this, police are recording statements from Preeti’s mother’s side to ascertain the motive behind the suicide. After consuming poison on Friday, Preeti was rushed to the district hospital in a critical condition and then to a private hospital for better treatment. While undergoing treatment, she died on Saturday. But before dying, she wrote a long, painful suicide note with henna on both her hands and feet. Now it has become an important part of the investigation, police said. Police on Sunday handed over the body to the family members after the post- mortem.
The police have registered the case as unnatural death and have started a formal investigation. Officials said that every aspect of the case will be thoroughly investigated before taking any further legal action.
