18 TMC MLAs Attend Suvendu Adhikari Meeting; List Emerges as Mamata Banerjee Makes Key Move: After losing the West Bengal Assembly elections, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is facing reports of internal divisions. Some reports say there is growing opposition to Abhishek Banerjee within the party since the defeat.

Speculation has also started about a possible breakaway group called a “new TMC,” allegedly led by two recently expelled MLAs. They claim support from over 50 MLAs and are also said to be staking claim to the Leader of Opposition post and the party’s election symbol.

Reports of a possible split grew after claims that the expelled MLAs met around 50 TMC legislators. Some leaders also suggested that the situation could resemble past party splits seen in other states.
