US Confirms Tanker Aircraft Crash in Iraq, Rescue Operation Underway
US KC-135 Tanker Crashes in Western Iraq During Iran Conflict Operations: As the Iran war entered its 14th day, tensions in the Middle East increased after a US military aircraft crashed in western Iraq on Thursday. The KC-135 Stratotanker crashed during Operation Epic Fury, according to the United States Central Command.
US officials said two aircraft were involved in the mission. One aircraft crashed in western Iraq, while the other landed safely. Authorities clarified that the crash was not caused by enemy attack or friendly fire. The incident happened in what the military described as “friendly airspace.”
A rescue operation is currently underway, but officials have not yet confirmed the condition of the crew members.
The KC-135 Stratotanker is an important aircraft used by the United States Air Force. Even though it has been in service for more than 60 years, it still plays a key role by refueling fighter jets in the air, allowing them to travel longer distances during combat missions.
US officials said an investigation into the crash is ongoing, and more information will be released after the inquiry is completed.
