On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices jumped nearly 4%, with 10 grams crossing ₹1.44 lakh. Silver prices also surged by around 6%, reaching ₹2.36 lakh per kilogram, marking a significant increase of about ₹11,500 per kg.
Gold Near Record High, Silver Sees Strong Gains
In the global market, spot gold rose by nearly 2%, touching around $4,600 per ounce. The rise comes amid reports of renewed diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran, including a 15-point proposal aimed at resolving the conflict.
However, ongoing tensions—such as threats to block the Strait of Hormuz and warnings over energy infrastructure—continue to create volatility in commodity markets. Experts say safe-haven demand for gold and silver remains strong due to uncertainty, even as diplomatic efforts to restore stability continue.
