Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Sundaragada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.

IMD issues heavy rain till Sep 1, gusty winds up to 40 kmph: Odisha has witnessed heavy rainfall across several areas over the past 24 hours due to a low-pressure system and cyclonic circulation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings for several districts of state for the next seven days.

On August 26, a yellow warning has been issued with heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada and Sambalpur. No warning has been issued for August 27.

On August 28, a Yellow Warning has been issued for heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30–40 kmph may occur at isolated places across Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada district.

On August 29, an Orange Warning has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj. A yellow warning has also been issued for heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Kataka, Sundaragada, Anugola and Dhenkanal. In addition, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching up to 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.

On August 30, an Orange Warning has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Sundaragada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj. A Yellow Warning has been issued for heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Boudh, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.

On August 31, an Orange Warning has been issued for Sundaragada, Debagada, Anugola, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts. Heavy to very heavy rainfall are likely to occur at one or two places. Besides, a Yellow Warning has been issued for heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Boudh, Balangir and Nayagada.

On September 1, a Yellow Warning has been issued for Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur and Debagada districts.
