30 Senior Officers Appointed As State Reviewers To Monitor PM SHRI Schools: The School and Mass Education Department has appointed 30 senior officers as ‘State Reviewers’ to monitor the performance of PM SHRI Schools across the state. This is a significant move towards strengthening the implementation of the PM SHRI Scheme in Odisha.
The appointments were notified through an official order issued on Wednesday. The panel comprises eight IAS officers, 13 OAS officers, one OFS officer, and eight Odisha Education Service (OES) officers. The team includes senior functionaries such as the Director of SCERT, State Project Director of OSEPA, Director of Higher Secondary Education, Director of Secondary Education, Director of Elementary Education, Chairman of CHSE, President of the Board of Secondary Education, Additional Secretaries of the School and Mass Education Department, and other senior education administrators.
Each reviewer has been assigned one district for periodic review and evaluation of the PM SHRI schools in their jurisdiction. The initiative aims to transform these schools into model institutions in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with special emphasis on 21 quality saturation indicators, improved learning outcomes, and comprehensive academic assessment.
The designated State Reviewers will undertake planned field visits to assess academic performance, teaching-learning practices, school infrastructure, governance, and the overall implementation of the PM SHRI framework. They will also evaluate student competencies through both qualitative and quantitative indicators.
The officers have been directed to identify achievements, document best practices, and highlight gaps requiring intervention. Following each visit, the officers are required to upload detailed review reports on the PM SHRI portal to help the department address identified gaps promptly. As per the notification, OSEPA has been entrusted with creating portal profiles for all State Reviewers, assigning them the respective PM SHRI schools, and nominating a dedicated nodal officer to coordinate the review process.
