Raksha Bandhan 2026: Know auspicious time for tying rakhi  

According to astrologers, lunar eclipse falling on Raksha Bandhan will not be visible in India. In such a situation, the related rules and sutak kaal will not be considered.

The auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on Shravan shukla purnima. There is a lot of confusion regarding the date of Raksha Bandhan this year, as the Purnima Tithi starts from 9:08 am on August 27 and will last till 9: 48 am on August 28.

According to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Friday, August 28. On this day there will be no Bhadra Dosh and the auspicious time of tying Rakhi will start from 5:47 am. Along with this, tying Rakhi in Abhijit Muhurta (from 11:44 to 12:35 PM) is also considered very auspicious. According to astrologers, lunar eclipse falling on Raksha Bandhan will not be visible in India. In such a situation, the related rules and sutak kaal will not be considered. Also, the festival of Rakhi can be celebrated throughout the day without any hindrance.

The auspicious time for tying Rakhi on August 28

First special Muhurat- 5:57 am to 9:48 am.

Second Muhurta – 7:33 AM to 9:10 AM.

Third Muhurta: 9:10 AM to 10:46 AM.

Purnima Tithi will start on 27th August at 9:08 am and along with it Bhadra Kaal will also start. It will last till 9:32 pm because the festival of Raksha Bandhan is not celebrated in Bhadra Kaal.
