Training Aircraft Crashes in Kanpur, 2 Dead
Two Pilots Killed in Aircraft Crash in Kanpur: A private training aircraft crashed near the Nattha Kheda Ganga Barrage in Kanpur on Thursday morning. The twin-engine aircraft had two people on board, and both the instructor and trainee pilot died in the crash.
The victims were identified as instructor pilot Sachin Bhatia and trainee pilot Abhishek Pujari. The aircraft belonged to Garg Aviation, a local flight training school.
Police said the instructor pilot was from Gujarat and had more than 3,000 hours of flying experience. The trainee pilot was from Karnataka.
Emergency teams reached the crash site and started rescue operations. Police have secured the area, and the DGCA has been informed. A DGCA team is expected to investigate the cause of the crash.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the deaths and offered condolences to the families of the victims.
