List of Chief Ministers of Karnataka. Karnataka was formed on 25 October 1947. Then the state was known as Mysore. It was named Karnataka on 1 November 1973. Let us tell you that K. Chengalraya Reddy of Congress was the first Chief Minister of Karnataka (Mysore) state. Reddy served as chief minister from October 25, 1947, to March 30, 1952.

President rule has been imposed in Karnataka 6 times. Recently, president rule was imposed from November 20, 2007 to May 29, 2008. The state of Karnataka was formed on 25 October 1947. The Second President’s rule was imposed from 31 December 1977 to 28 February 1978. President’s rule for the third time from 21 April 1989 to 30 November 1989. President’s rule for the fourth time from 10 October 1990 to 17 October 1990. President’s rule for the fifth time from 8 October 2007 to 12 November 2007. President’s rule for the sixth time from 20 November 2007 to 29 May 2008.
