A 13- foot Ganesha idol made of pani puri: Ganeshotsav is famous all over Maharashtra for its grand events, attractive decorations and unique idols of Lord Ganesha. Ganeshotsav, which started from September 14, is being celebrated everywhere with great funfare. From homes to public pandals, Bappa is greeted with great enthusiasm. But this time a very unique idol from Pune has grabbed the attention of the entire country. The video of this idol is going viral on social media platforms and people are praising the art of the artisans by writing ‘Jai Shri Ganesha’.
The management of ‘Ganesh Bhel’, located on the famous FC Road in Pune, has shown such a combination of faith and creativity this Ganeshotsav. Artisans has created a 13 feet tall idol of Lord Ganesha using around 21,000 pani puris. This unique artwork was created by Rupesh and Dinesh Gudmevar after almost two months of hard work. Pani Puri is extremely fragile, so artisans have been deployed round the clock to protect the idol from any damage and keep it safe during the festival.
The most special thing about this initiative is that these puris will not be immersed in water after the festival is over. Around 21,000 puris will be processed and converted into organic food to avoid water pollution and material wastage. This unique thought for the environment makes this effort even more special.
