A New Form Of The Corona Virus Has Spread To 23 Countries : The Corona virus has returned again. The new variant is named ‘Cicada’. It was first detected in South Africa. Now it has spread to 23 countries. Scientists have named it BA.3.2 or ‘Cicada’. It is part of the Omicron family. Many changes have been seen in it. The World Health Organization (WHO) is monitoring it. ‘Cicada’ is a type of insect. Which comes out after sleeping underground for many years. This virus has also been hidden since 2022. Now it has reappeared. Hence it has been named Cicada. Cicada was first seen in a child in South Africa.
It has now been identified in about 23 countries, including the US, Japan, Britain and Europe. Its symptoms are similar to the previous variant. Symptoms include cough, sore throat, fever, headache and runny nose. The cicada virus has changed more than 70 times from the previous variant. So it can surprise the body’s immune system. But there is no evidence that it causes patients to become seriously ill or hospitalized. The vaccine for cicada is still effective. It has been recommended to wash hands, stay clean and get tested if symptoms appear. WHO is monitoring this cicada.
