Ajinkya Rahane Announces Retirement From International Cricket: Ajinkya Rahane, one of the legendary batsmen of Indian cricket and a Test specialist, has announced his retirement from international cricket. He has announced this message through his social media handle. His fans are upset and are pouring lots of love, support and well wishes across social media.
In an emotional video post on Instagram with the caption: “Cap 278 signing off” Rahane said, ‘ Now is the right time to move forward in his career. Even though he is saying goodbye to international cricket, he wants to stay connected with the game. The truth of life is that everything has a beginning and an end. When the time is right, you have to respect it and move on.’ ‘Since the time I made my debut as a first-class cricketer, Indian cricket has grown tremendously, and I feel so proud to have been a part of it over the last 20 years. He talks about his time with the Indian team and how he gave his all for the country.
Ajinkya Rahane, who has shown great performance in Tests for Team India, will no longer be seen in international cricket. Rahane is considered a Test specialist. He played his first T20 International match for India in August 2011. However, he could not play in this format for a long time. Rahane made his Test debut in 2013. He played his first ODI for India in September 2016. After 2018, he was dropped from the team and could not make a comeback.
Ajinkya Rahane, during his test career, played 85 matches and scored 5077 runs. It included 12 centuries and 26 fifties. He played Tests till 2024. He played 90 matches and scored 2962 runs in ODIs. He has three centuries and 24 fifties to his name. He played only 20 T20 International matches and managed to score 375 runs. He has a half-century to his name in it.
Under Rahane’s captaincy team won 4 out of total 6 matches. While two have ended in a draw. Team India also won the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
