Coaching Centre Row: Khan Sir granted anticipatory bail by Patna court: The Patna civil court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to Faizal Khan alias Khan Sir in a coaching controversy case. After which he will no longer have to surrender. Along with Khan Sir, his three other associates have also been granted anticipatory bail.
Khan Sir’s lawyer filed a plea for anticipatory bail. The hearing had already been completed, but the court reserved its decision. On Monday, the civil court granted them anticipatory bail while pronouncing its verdict. Earlier, the decision was expected on Friday itself, but it could not come because the judge was on vacation.
The case relates to the June 2 attack on Khan Global Studies(KGS) in Patna, when a group of 15 to 20 people allegedly vandalised the premises and pelted stones at the institute run by Khan Sir.
The weapons allegedly used in the firing have been seized and sent for forensic examination, an FIR has been registered at the Kadamkuan police station, and both bodyguards remain in judicial custody. Khan Sir has denied the allegations against him.
Immediately after the incident, Khan Sir had alleged that people linked to a rival coaching institute were behind the attack on KGS. Members of that rival institute later accused him of having arranged the episode himself.
