DGCA Issues New Rules, Good news for air passengers. Now you will get full money if you cancel your ticket. DGCA has issued new rules. Free cancellation within 48 hours. Refund will be available within 7 days. No more charges for ticket cancellation. The Indian aviation regulator is going to implement new rules very soon. 48-hour ‘look-in’ facility. If you cancel your ticket or make any changes within 48 hours of booking the ticket, then you will not have to pay any additional charges for it. In this case, the booking should be made only 7-15 days before the travel date. If you booked the ticket with a credit card, the money will be refunded within 7 days of cancellation. If you paid cash for the ticket, you will get the money back immediately from the airline counter.

If you book through a travel agent, you will get your money back within 14 days. Even if your ticket is ‘non-refundable’, the company will still have to refund all government charges like Airport Tax, PSF, and UDF. If there is a mistake in the name on the ticket, then it will be corrected without any charges if you report it within 24 hours of booking. If a passenger or his/her family member is admitted to the hospital, then a full refund will be given on presentation of a medical certificate. Airlines are required to clearly state their cancellation policy and the amount of refund that will be given at the time of booking the ticket.
