Dharmendra Pradhan, who resigned from the post of Union Education Minister following the NEET controversy and nationwide student agitation, reached Parliament for the first time on Monday. BJP MPs assembled near the Makar Dwar entrance ahead of Pradhan’s arrival. As he entered the Parliament complex, colleagues escorted him inside, greeted him and presented him with a ceremonial cap and a shawl in a symbolic gesture of support. The MPs also raised ‘Dharmendra Pradhan zindabad’ slogans.

On the other side the opposition parties became more aggressive as soon as he arrived. The opposition MPs, who arrived with placards in their hands, accused the central government of completely weakening the education system of the country. Opposition leaders led by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra raised slogans of ‘education theft’.
