DMK to boycott India Bloc meeting on June 8: Ahead of the India Bloc meeting on June 8, differences have emerged in the opposition parties. At present, the main point of rift between the CPI(M) and the BJP is the allegation of a ‘secret pact’ being leveled at the Congress.

The CPI(M) says that the Congress had falsely promoted an alliance between the CPI(M) and the BJP to gain advantage in the Kerala assembly elections. The BJP has described these incidents as a sign of a growing rift in the opposition alliance.

The CPI(M) has said that the party is upset with the allegations leveled by the Congress during the Kerala elections, but does not want to weaken opposition unity against the BJP.At the same time, DMK has already said that it will not attend the meeting on June 8. In a statement, DMK said that the party cadres were upset at Congress betraying DMK after the assembly election. So, to give respect to the party cadres’ sentiments, DMK will not participate in the India Bloc meeting. In short, DMK will not participate in the meeting in which Congress participates.
