Driving License Will Be Cancelled If More Than 5 Challans Are Issued In A Year : Central government’s major amendment in Motor Vehicle Act, strict action will be taken against violators . There is no more forgiveness for violating traffic rules . It is mandatory to pay the fine within 45 days of the challan. Motor vehicle services will not be available unless the fine is paid. Driving license will be cancelled if more than 5 challans are issued in a year. The central government has taken a strict approach against motor vehicle rule violators by making important amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act. A time limit has been fixed for deciding the challan complaint. The concerned officer who issued the challan has been made mandatory to take a decision within 30 days.

It has also been said that the challan will be considered as wrong if the decision is taken. Major amendments have been made in Central Motor Vehicles Rules 167 and 167(A). Driving licenses and vehicle registrations will be suspended if the challan is not paid. . The Ministry of Road Transport has notified this today. According to this rule, if a person commits 5 or more traffic offences in a year from January 1, 2026, then that person will be considered a habitual offender. According to the new rule, the police or the authorized officer can issue challans in two ways.
