The video is being shared with claims that the actor has been granted bail and that Salman Khan helped him during his legal troubles.
What’s the Truth?
The video currently circulating online is an old clip and is unrelated to the ongoing case. Rajpal Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026, in connection with a cheque bounce case and remains in judicial custody.
His bail plea was heard in the Delhi High Court on February 12. After hearing arguments, the court adjourned the matter until February 16. As of now, he has not been granted bail.
What Is the Case About?
The matter dates back to 2012 when Rajpal Yadav directed the film Aata Pata Lapata. His wife produced the film, and Yadav reportedly took a loan of ₹5 crore for its production. Over time, with interest and penalties, the amount reportedly increased to ₹9 crore.
The film failed at the box office, causing heavy financial losses. Despite multiple opportunities granted by the court to repay the loan, the dues remained unpaid. Following non-compliance with court directives, a strict order was passed directing him to surrender.
In compliance with the court’s order, Rajpal Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5.
Claims that Rajpal Yadav has been released on bail and that Salman Khan repaid his debt are false. The viral video is old and unrelated to the current legal proceedings. The actor remains in jail, and the next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 16.
