Former Afghanistan Cricketer Shapoor Zadran Passes Away at 38: Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passed away on July 7 in India after battling a serious immune system-related illness. He was 38 years old and died just one day before his 39th birthday.

Born on July 8, 1987, in Logar Province, Shapoor was receiving treatment in the Delhi-NCR region. His body arrived in Kabul on his birthday, making the moment even more emotional for his family and teammates.

Several former and current Afghanistan players, including Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, were present at Kabul Airport to pay their respects. Both were visibly emotional.

Known for his tall frame, long hair, and fast bowling, Shapoor made a strong impact in international cricket and dismissed top batters like Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag during his career.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board said his funeral prayers will be held at Kabul’s historic Eidgah Mosque on Thursday at 10 AM, followed by his burial at Maranjan Hill cemetery.
