Sourin is accused of sexually harassing a young woman on the pretext of marriage and cheating her of lakhs of rupees. After the victim filed a complaint in the Cuttack Women’s Police Station, Sourin approached the High Court for anticipatory bail. Despite getting interim protection from the court, he stopped appearing before the police. When repeated searches failed to trace him, a Red Corner Notice was issued against him.

Sourin was supposed to surrender before the lower court on August 20, but he failed to do so. The High Court expressed displeasure over this and lifted the protection granted to him against the non-bailable warrant (NBW).
