India’s First Bullet Train Will Roll On This Day : A historic chapter is about to be added in the Indian transport sector. According to the announcement of Railway Minister Ashwani Baishnab, the country’s first bullet train is going to be operational on August 15, 2027. This high-speed railway project, spanning 508 km between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, will bring a big change in the country’s passenger transport system.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor will be operationalised in the following phases. Surat to Bilimora station will be inaugurated in the first phase.
Bhapi to Surat will be inaugurated in the second phase, Bhapi to Ahmedabad in the third phase, and then Thane to Ahmedabad etc.
On this occasion, the Railway Minister said, “You can buy bullet train tickets on Independence Day 2027.” This train will connect major cities like Mumbai, Thane, Bhopal, Surat, Bharuch, Baroda and Ahmedabad.
352 km of the project is in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and 156 km is in Maharashtra. About 465 km (85%) of the road is being constructed as elevated viaducts, of which 326 km has been completed. Out of 25 proposed river bridges, 17 have been completed.
Similarly, the structural work of this modern station, built in the style of the diamond industry, has been completed. It has world-class facilities for passengers on three levels.
Apart from the bullet train, Minister Vaishnav highlighted the success of the ‘Vande Bharat Express’. He said that keeping in mind the demand of the countrymen, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will be launched soon. It will provide a safe and comfortable experience for night travel.
