Son-in-Law Dragged by Crocodile While Bathing After Mother-in-Law’s Cremation
Crocodile Attack Shocks Family After Cremation Ceremony at Saryu River: A tragic incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district, where a 30-year-old man named Deepak was killed in a crocodile attack while bathing in the Saryu River.
Deepak had travelled from Greater Noida to attend his mother-in-law’s funeral. After the last rites, he and his family members went to bathe in the river. Suddenly, a crocodile attacked him and dragged him underwater.
People nearby screamed for help, but Deepak could not be saved. After a 24-hour search, divers recovered his mutilated body nearly 2.5 kilometres away from the spot.
Deepak had arrived in Gonda around 9:30 AM, and the incident happened just a few hours later. He worked as a computer operator in a private company and is survived by his wife, Rekha and their four-year-old daughter.
Police said crocodile attacks have happened before in this part of the Saryu River, where several people have lost their lives while bathing.
