India’s GDP to grow 6.4% in FY27, fastest among G-20 nations
India To Be Worlds Fastest Growing Economy This Year : India is set to maintain its dominance in the global economy. International rating agency Moody’s has forecast that India’s real GDP will grow at a rate of 6.4% in the next financial year 2026-27. This growth rate will be the highest among the G-20 nations.
According to Moody’s, the country’s robust domestic demand, rising investment and stable macroeconomic conditions will support this growth. In addition, reforms such as GST rationalization and income tax reduction will help boost domestic consumption.
On the other hand, the Reserve Bank of India has also expressed positive expectations for growth. According to the latest estimates of the RBI, the growth is likely to be 6.9% in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 and 7.0% in the second quarter.
Moody’s said that the financial situation will remain stable over the next 12 to 18 months due to a strong economy. In particular, the situation of export-oriented small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will improve after the trade agreement between India and the US in February 2026. However, the agency warned that competition among banks for deposits may increase.
