Lady IIC was found dead in her official quarters: In a shocking incident, the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Chauliaganj Police Station was found dead inside her official quarters on Saturday.
According to police sources, Beauty Mohanty was recently appointed IIC to head the Chauliaganj police station. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when she did not open her door despite repeated knocking. Several phone calls were made by fellow staff members but went unanswered. Suspicion was raised regarding her well-being among the staff members. After being informed, a team of police personnel rushed to her quarters. She was found hanging after police personnel entered her residence after breaking down the door. The police suspect that the woman officer died by suicide.
According to a preliminary investigation, a family dispute is believed to be the reason behind the tragedy. Meanwhile, the body of IIC Mohanty has been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further details are awaited.
