Police will issue non-bailable warrants and take strict legal action against those involved in illegal activities

Odisha Police launches operation ‘Daman’ to curb anti-social activities: To ensure law and order, peace and safety, Odisha Police will launch a special statewide operation, ‘Daman’. The special drive is scheduled to run from September 21 to 30 to curb criminal and anti-social activities ahead of festive season.

As part of massive 10-day drive, police will maintain strict surveillance on the movements of known criminals and anti-social elements across the state. Police will issue non-bailable warrants and take strict legal action against those involved in illegal activities.  Police will intensify surveillance at borders(inter- state and inter-district points) against the illegal liquor trade, drug trafficking, and the illegal trade and possession of arms and explosives.

The District Police, Railway Police, Commissionerate Police and other concerned police units will conduct the operation in close coordination. Through the proactive ‘Daman’ initiative Odisha police aims to strengthen security, maintain peace and public order during the festive season across the state.
