Panchayat polls 2027: SEC directs review meeting on July 21: The Odisha State Election Commission(SEC) has initiated preparations ahead of the 2027 Panchayat and Urban Local Body(ULB) polls. A high-level review meeting will be held on 21 July.
In an official letter, the SEC directed all district collectors and magistrates to attend the meeting. The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the State Election Commissioner on 21 July scheduled at 11:30 am via the OSWAN platform. Additional District Magistrates, EROs, AEROs, and other concerned senior officials from district administrations have been directed to participate from their respective district OSWAN centres. The SEC emphasised the importance of accurate voter data collection and timely financial compliance to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. The key agenda includes:
- Review of door-to-door(D2D) survey for preparation of booth-wise electoral roles for the 2027 Panchayati Raj Institutions and ULBs Elections.
- Assessment of pending DC bills and Utilization Certificates related to the 2022 ULB general elections.
- Review of compliance and follow-up on decisions taken in previous meetings.
